Volkswagens have been my world for a long time—before Idaho Aircooled Werks even had a name.
I spent six years at German Motor Works in Garden Grove restoring Things, Bugs, Buses, Vanagons and 356s. That’s where I learned the difference between something that’s just assembled and something that’s truly built right.
I’m a retired Marine (Aviation Maintenance), and I bring that same discipline and attention to detail into my work today. No shortcuts, no guessing, and no sending something out the door I wouldn’t trust in my own car.
Now I’m based in Idaho, and while I’m able to do maintenance and fabrication, I’m focusing rebuilding transmissions for aircooled Volkswagen and Porsche vehicles. From stock rebuilds to performance and custom setups, every gearbox gets the same careful, hands-on approach.
If it’s got gears, makes noise when it shouldn’t, or doesn’t feel right on the road, that’s what I work on. German vehicles has always been the passion—but getting them to drive right is the part that matters most.
