Volkswagens have been my world for a long time—before Idaho Aircooled Werks even had a name.
I spent about six years at German Motor Works in Garden Grove turning wrenches and rebuilding transmissions for German cars. That’s where I learned the difference between something that’s just assembled and something that’s truly built right.
I’m a retired Marine, and I bring that same discipline and attention to detail into my work today. No shortcuts, no guessing, and no sending something out the door I wouldn’t trust in my own car.
Now I’m based in Idaho, focusing entirely on rebuilding transmissions for aircooled Volkswagen and Porsche vehicles. From stock rebuilds to performance and custom setups, every gearbox gets the same careful, hands-on approach.
If it’s got gears, makes noise when it shouldn’t, or doesn’t feel right on the road, that’s what I work on. Volkswagen has always been the passion—but getting them to drive right is the part that matters most.
If you’re building, restoring, or just trying to fix something that’s not shifting the way it should, I’m here to help you get it done right.
